Come and visit us

"I was a stranger and you invited me in" (Matthew 25:35)

Every church is unique and St. Timothy's is no exception. Even if some things feel new and unfamiliar to you, we hope the Q&A's below help you feel as comfortable and 'at home' with us as you can.

Some commonly asked questions

What time are services?

Throughout the year we have one Sunday morning Communion service at 10:00 a.m. From September to June, we also have a Wednesday evening Communion service at 6:00 pm in the chapel. More information about each service can be found at www.stcraleigh.org/our-worship

What do I need to bring or wear?

It is our custom to provide full service bulletins with everything you will need to participate in our service.  As for what to wear, most adults in our congregation wear "business casual." As for children, it can be anything from formal to casual.

Where can I park?

When you pull into our campus from Six Forks Road you are welcome to park in any of the spaces to your right or in the small parking lot on your left as you enter.  Parking spaces can also be found  if one drives past the the church building - spaces which are reserved for school parking Monday-Friday during the school year.

What happens when I walk through the door?

Once you park, enter the main foyer (we call, the Narthex) through one of the three front entrances.  An usher will greet you, provide you a service bulletin, and offer any necessary information you might need.  Five minutes before we begin organ music will play, at the end of which time the person leading will welcome the congregation prior to beginning the liturgy itself.

What about my kids?

On the first Sunday of each month, the entire congregation worships together at the 10:00 a.m. service.  However, all other Sundays a team of volunteers runs a special program for children called Fun in the Son.  Children are asked to arrive at 9:45 a.m. for registration and snack.  If you want to know more about Fun in the Son click here.

Despite there being a program designed with kids in mind, children are most welcome at church - whether they are fast asleep or wide awake! Ask an usher for a "kid's bag". It contains a small snack, games and crayons.

If you desire a private place to breastfeed or to take an upset child you are welcome to use our designated Quiet Space, a small room in the Narthex made for this purpose.

Am I allowed to receive Communion?

It is our belief that anyone who has been baptised in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit may receive Communion, regardless of age or denomination.  However, if you have not been baptized or do not feel comfortable receiving, you are welcome to receive a blessing from the Priest instead.

How long should I plan on being there?

Currently, our Sunday service lasts between 1-1.25 hours long. On the first Sunday of the month you are welcome to join us after the service for our bring-and-share Community Feast in the Parish Hall.
